Iconic actor Channing Tatum revealed that streaming services have disrupted Hollywood because good movies aren't being made anymore!
Known for starring in some iconic movies (and a killer hairstyle), Channing Tatum has done a number of projects like King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, Magic Mike, and Deadpool & Wolverine.
Although not being a part of the big leagues, Tatum is an incredible actor who recently opened up about the things that had been happening in Hollywood. From spoiled movies to putting money with no benefits, Channing Tatum hinted that streaming services have disrupted Hollywood ever since their debut.
During a recent appearance on Hot Ones, the Roofman star talked about how actors are now incentivized to promote bad movies and projects in Hollywood instead of making actual good movies. Read his full quote below:
I think, now, when you get asked to do a movie, or you’re trying to get a movie made, it’s a very confused pipeline of possibilities. It really feels like, at times, that you’re incentivized to make bad things to get paid, rather than make something really, really good.
He continued,
For the f*cking people that actually get to see these things and [for the type of] people that I want to see these movies, the person that I was when I was a kid. And I want good movies.
Truer words could not have been said more clearly, since although streaming provided audiences with accessibility and introduced them to a plethora of movies, old and new, it has indeed disrupted the Hollywood network.
Several movies like Netflix’s Frankenstein deserve to be released in theaters, but instead, it got a limited theatrical release and quickly shifted to Netflix. Similarly, James Gunn’s Superman had a minor theatrical run before the director shifted it to HBO Max so that he could release season 2 of Peacemaker!
