In a thrilling Monday Night Football game, the Baltimore Ravens emerged victorious, defeating the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 41-31. Lamar Jackson led Baltimore’s offense with five touchdown passes, while Derrick Henry dominated on the ground, racking up 169 rushing yards. Despite the win, the game was marred by significant injuries to key players on both sides.

Early Momentum for the Buccaneers

Tampa Bay started strong, building a 10-0 lead early in the first half. Quarterback Baker Mayfield connected with veteran receiver Mike Evans for a 25-yard touchdown, marking Evans' 100th career touchdown reception, a historic achievement in the NFL. However, the Buccaneers’ early success was short-lived. Evans, already dealing with a hamstring injury, aggravated it during the game, forcing him to leave the field. This was a major blow to Tampa Bay’s offense, as Evans’ presence had been crucial to their early advantage.
Shortly after, another key Buccaneers player went down. Receiver Chris Godwin suffered a serious injury in the game’s final minute. The loss of both Evans and Godwin severely impacted Tampa Bay's ability to generate offense throughout the rest of the game.

The Buccaneers' early momentum could have extended further, but an interception by Ravens’ cornerback Marlon Humphrey in the end zone halted their drive. From this point, Baltimore took control. Lamar Jackson and the Ravens' offense started to find their rhythm, and Baltimore quickly responded with a touchdown. Jackson connected with tight end Mark Andrews for a nine-yard score, cutting Tampa Bay’s lead to 10-7 early in the second quarter.
Baltimore’s defense played a key role in turning the tide. Humphrey, who had been playing exceptionally well, intercepted Mayfield again just before halftime, giving the Ravens another opportunity. Despite suffering a knee injury on his second interception, which would sideline him for the remainder of the game, Humphrey’s contributions helped Baltimore maintain momentum.

Lamar Jackson’s performance became the story of the night. He threw for five touchdowns, two of which went to Mark Andrews, and repeatedly picked apart the Buccaneers' defense. One of the most memorable moments came when Jackson found Rashod Bateman for a 59-yard pass that set up a touchdown, giving Baltimore its first lead of the game at 14-10.
Derrick Henry, Baltimore’s star running back, was equally unstoppable. In addition to his 169 rushing yards, Henry broke off several big plays, including an 81-yard run in the third quarter that set up another Ravens’ scoring opportunity. Although he didn’t score on that play, Henry's physical presence on the field kept Tampa Bay’s defense on its heels.
Henry finally found the end zone in the fourth quarter on a 13-yard touchdown reception, marking his first receiving touchdown of the game. Jackson’s fifth passing touchdown of the night cemented his status as a dual-threat quarterback, as he became the only QB in NFL history to record multiple games with 50 rushing yards and five passing touchdowns.
