Khel Khel Mein
One of the most eagerly awaited films is Khel Khel Mein, a comedy-drama that serves as a remake of the 2016 Italian film Perfect Strangers by Paolo Genovese. Directed by Mudassar Aziz, this movie features a star-studded cast, including Akshay Kumar, Ammy Virk, Taapsee Pannu, Vaani Kapoor, Fardeen Khan, Aditya Seal, and Pragya Jaiswal. Additionally, Chitrangada Singh is set to make a special appearance.
Originally scheduled for release on September 6th, the film’s debut has been moved to August 15th, coinciding with Independence Day. The plot centres on seven friends who reunite after a long separation and decide to share all their phone texts, emails, and messages for one day. As secrets emerge, their relationships are tested, leading to a mix of humorous and dramatic developments.
Even before its theatrical release, Khel Khel Mein generated considerable buzz, with Netflix reportedly acquiring the digital streaming rights. The film is expected to be available on the platform roughly two months after its release in cinemas.
Vedaa
Directed by Nikkhil Advani, Vedaa, starring John Abraham, is set to compete with other major films hitting theatres on Independence Day. The movie tells the gripping tale of a former army officer who takes on the mission of training an ordinary girl to fight against caste discrimination and untouchability. The trailer hints at a powerful narrative with intense action and a climactic showdown, promising a captivating viewing experience.
After its release, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) granted Vedaa a U/A certification. Additionally, the CBFC cut over nine minutes of footage to align with the board’s standards. Alongside John Abraham, the film features a strong supporting cast, including Sharvari, Tamannaah Bhatia, and Abhishek Banerjee.
